- AAP (Adoption Assistance Program)
A mandatory statewide program that provides financial support to families in order to facilitate the adoption of children who would otherwise be in long-term foster care. The intent of this program is to remove limited financial resources as a barrier to adoption. Obtain details from your adoption social worker.

Mandated State program to receive concerns regarding issues affecting foster youth. This office is to disseminate information on the rights of children and youth in foster care and to investigate complaints made by or on behalf of children in foster care.

- Foster Parent Associations
There are approximately 35 Foster Parent Associations in Los Angeles County which offer information, support and services to resource parents (foster parents) and their children. You are encouraged to visit a foster parents meeting while proceeding through the foster care licensing process.

- PAS (Post Adoption Services), Los Angeles County DCFS -800-732-4984
Under the Adoptions Division, assistance is provided to the adoption triad (adoptees, adoptive parents and birth parents) with information, referrals and other services after the adoption finalizes. There is help as long as needed and free of charge. County of Los Angeles Post Adoptive Services.
